Feb 14, 2014  After good debut movies in OKOK & Sundarapandian from both Udhay & Prabakaran(director) respectively, I had some expectation about IDHU KATHIRVELAN KADHAL. Well, it was nothing more than a feel good entertainer. It was not a huge disappointment but it.

This causes friction between Chaya Singh and her father Aadukalam Naren. Saranya Ponvannan is their mother. Chaya Singh fights with her husband and returns to her parents' house. Udhayanidhi Stalin goes to Bharath Reddy's house to make them reconcile.

He understands that it was only a clash of ego between his sister and her husband. He makes them talk to each other and brings them together. Nayanthara is his brother-in-law's neighbour.

Nayanthara works in a Panasonic showroom. Nayanthara's parents are Jayaprakash and Vanitha. Chaya Singh warns Udhayanidhi Stalin to keep a safe distance from Nayanthara as Jayaprakash and Bharath Reddy have previous enmity. Nayanthara is in a relationship with Sundar Ramu. She thinks he's a gentleman but Sundar Ramu is a womanizer. Udhayanidhi Stalin meets Nayanthara and immediately falls for her beauty.

Udhayanidhi Stalin and Santhanam team up to make Nayanthara fall in love with Udhayanidhi Stalin. They go to the Panasonic Showroom but create a scene in front of Nayanthara making her throw them out.

Udhayanidhi Stalin follows Nayanthara around. But she threatens to go to the police. Udhayanidhi Stalin finds out about Sundar Ramu's womanizing ways. He informs this to Nayanthara. But she doesn't believe him. Soon Sundar Ramu makes a move on Nayanthara making her dump him.

Nayanthara falls for Udhayanidhi Stalin. They both express their feelings. Bharath Reddy comes to know about this. He throws out Udhayanidhi Stalin for falling in love with his enemy's daughter.

His father also throws him out after he comes to know that he lied about going to Salem and was in stead in Coimbatore. Eventually Santhanam and Udhayanidhi Stalin use mimickry artist Mayilsami's help and finally solves the dispute between Bharath Reddy and Jayaprakash.

Contents • • • • • • • • Plot [ ] The film opens with a, in which a person is being taken to a hospital and the doctor later reporting that the person's condition will be known only after sometime. The scene then shifts a few months back. Enter Kathirvelan aka Kathir (), a -based owner who is a devout and devotee of since the age of five. Due to his devotion for Lord Maruti, he does not show any interest in women. One day, while returning from a Sri Anjaneya temple, he sees his elder sister, Vineethra () crying outside his house after his father () refused to take her in, having disowned her for eloping with a -based mill owner Shanmugham () against his wishes.

Vineethra, however, now has issues with Shanmugham, as a result of which, she left him and returned to her father's house. On Kathir's cajoling, his father reluctantly accepts Vineethra into the house. Kathir then decides to find out what caused the standoff between Vineethra and Shanmugham and leaves for Coimbatore, lying to his father that he is headed for to do some work related to his minibus business.
